Friesen currently serves in the role of Chairman. He is primarily involved in corporate growth strategy, vision and the cultivation of strategic partnerships and financing. Having attended boarding school in Tokyo in the 70s and University in Los Angeles in the 80s, Friesen gained a broad perspective, which pointed him in the direction of the business world. After settling in Vancouver in 1983, he began a career in property development by building high-rise communities in the Vancouver downtown core and resorts in the South Seas. After several years of success, the Friesen family retired on the island of Grand Cayman and took part in a charitable housing organization. By 2001, Friesen was ready to move back to British Columbia to reengage with the property development world.

Shier oversees planning, development, sales and marketing of residential communities. Shier earned a degree in architecture from the University of Southern California. After graduation in 1982, he moved to Vancouver and three years later became a registered architect. In 1986 he left architecture and began his development career. Shier worked in Senior Management at prominent Vancouver development companies, before joining Mission Group as a partner in 2004. He brings a disciplined approach to planning, and he has a passion for customer oriented design and marketing. Shier is a busy family man, married and the father of one son and two daughters. In his spare time he enjoys travel, boating, biking, skiing and oil painting. He is an active volunteer in the community and serves on several non-profit boards.

Heinrichs currently leads MGC Construction, a division of Mission Group. Heinrichs started as a journeyman carpenter in 1986. After learning his trade well, he began building homes as a general contractor. By 1991, Heinrichs was acting as general contractor for multi-family residential buildings. Heinrichs strengths lie in value engineering, tight scheduling, good relationships with the trades and loyal in-house workforce. As a partner of Mission Group, Heinrichs brings a solid construction expertise, which empowers Mission Group in all areas from planning, budgeting and execution.

George was directly involved in every aspect of the startup and initial growth of Mission Group, and currently maintains an advisory role at the executive level. Summach met Friesen while earning his Business Administration Degree at Biola University in Southern California. George was a key figure in the marketing effort of the 1000 block of Beach Avenue and worked with Friesen in this capacity from 1991 to 1993 when the community was sold. During that period, he was directly involved in the successful marketing of what was then the highest-end condo development in Vancouver. From 1993 to 1998, George worked for the largest dry-land farm implement manufacturer in the world. While there, he worked primarily as direct office support, for all international marketing efforts, which encompassed 26 international markets.

Joel oversees all accounting and financial matters at Mission Group. He plays a significant role in evaluating acquisition opportunities and securing financing for future communities. A key component of Joel’s analysis is determining viability based on Mission Group's mandate of delivering great value. Joel received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1995, spending 6 years with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Canada and abroad. Prior to joining Mission Group in 2004, he had worked in financial positions within construction, business valuations and health care. He is married with two active boys. When he is not working, Joel enjoys spending time with his family and playing and coaching a number of sports.

JoAnne Adamson is responsible for planning and managing all aspects of development for Mission Group. JoAnne is the leader of Mission Group’s Inspired Green approach and she is a LEED Accredited Professional through the Canada Green Building Council. JoAnne received a Bachelor of Commerce from Okanagan University College and a Certificate from Simon Fraser University’s Urban Design Program. JoAnne’s constant optimism and dedication have helped her create outstanding relationships with key stakeholders, consultants and city staff, and most of all, Mission Group homeowners.

Corey is responsible for planning and overseeing the day-to-day building operations of MGC Construction. This includes design, subcontractor management, and coordinating the building activity of our projects. He has a bachelors degree from the University of Alberta. Before Corey found his way to the construction industry, he spent the early part of his career working with teenagers in various non-profit settings. Corey has a passion for creating homes and communities, which will become great places to live. He places a strong value on building as a team - recognizing the importance of collaboration in the building process. Spending time with his young family is one of Corey’s greatest sources of enjoyment. He also loves riding anything on two wheels - in the dirt, on the track or on the street.
