The Block is now complete, and occupancy has been achieved! Take a look back on the construction milestones as downtown Kelowna’s first Class A office tower took shape.

The Block has reached a new milestone with full occupancy now achieved — tenants are beginning to move into their brand-new office spaces, infusing fresh energy into this vibrant downtown hub.
The Level 17 rooftop patio, where future tenants will relish breathtaking lake views, is nearly completed. Meanwhile, mechanical commissioning and fire alarm verification are advancing smoothly.
As the year concludes, the Mechanical Room is now 90% complete, solidifying the operational backbone of the building. Drywall installation is actively underway, reaching up to Level 15. The common area floor tile installation has progressed to Level 11.
Exciting news as The Block reaches new heights – the building is officially topped off with the final concrete pour for elevator levels 18 and 19. This significant milestone marks the completion of the vertical construction phase, bringing us closer to the realization of Downtown Kelowna's premier Class A office tower.
Storefront window frames and glass installation are nearly complete, while exterior cladding is 50% done. The distinctive Rammed Earth Wall along the Bernard frontage is finished, showcasing a unique and sustainable touch to The Block's architectural character.
The Block continues its upward journey, reaching new heights with the successful pouring of Level 16. The mechanical and electrical systems rough-ins are progressing, and the sleek facade makes a statement as the curtain wall installation is now complete up to Level 7.
Construction is progressing smoothly with concrete pouring complete to Level 11. Masonry, fire protection, mechanical, and electrical work is underway from Levels 1-5.
Precast cladding is now complete on the South and East elevations. The Level 10 typical floor on Bertram and Level 9 on The Block have been poured.
With the final pour of the Level 6 transfer slab, the parking structure is complete. We'll now watch as the tower steadily rises to its full 17-storey height.
The team completed the Level 5 vertical as well as all slab decks forming for Level 6.
This month the team began formwork on the west tower quadrant and completed the east vertical concrete for Level 5.
The first slab-on-grade is poured, marking the first step in The Block’s vertical progress.
262 pilings are driven into the ground with innovative, vibration-reducing technology, setting the stage for the first concrete pour.
Construction officially kicks off for The Block. Work begins to excavate the site for pilings and below grade operations.
Fencing is installed and crews begin to demolish the existing structure. Demolition is complete after 86 days.
Downtown Kelowna’s first Class A office tower is approved by Kelowna city council. Next door to master-planned residential communities Bertram and Brooklyn, The Block is set to bring a new energy and commercial hub to downtown like never before.
