About the Collection
The 2025 showcase, entitled Lost Postcards by Kelowna oil painter Randall Shier, is a series of paintings that explores the interplay between memory, architecture, and the human experience. Through the layered texture of oils on canvas, Shier celebrates Kelowna’s history, immortalizing two iconic buildings along with a pastoral landscape that hints at the indelible marks left on our landscape by human intervention and the passage of time.

About the Artist
Randall Shier is a Kelowna-based painter whose lifelong passions for art, architecture, and humanity have informed a practice of using line, shape, colour, and texture to capture the essence of his subjects. Having cultivated his approach over the decades via professional workshops, explorative art classes overseas, and his professional background as an architect, his art welcomes viewers to pause and appreciate the details of our world in a new light.
A longtime member of Kelowna’s arts collective, Randall is a recognizable face for anyone familiar with our organization — wearing the dual hats of professional artist and Co-Founder of Mission Group, we are grateful to him for helping us establish this program at The Block.
