CHAIR
Peter Mogan
For 44 years, Peter Mogan served as a lawyer, businessman and mediator in B.C. and Ontario. He has worked closely with his business clients as a strategic advisor bringing a practical, entrepreneurial approach, combined with a very relational style. Peter is known as a leading mid-market M&A legal advisor in British Columbia. He has also advised dozens of companies on employee ownership. He is a frequent speaker, moderator and writer on M&A, private equity and employee ownership topics.
In 2021, Peter transitioned to full-time board work. In addition to chairing the Mission Group Board, Peter chairs three other boards and serves as a director for four other BC companies as well as two not-for-profits. Peter chairs a MacKay CEO Forum Group. He is deeply involved as Vice-Chair of Food for the Hungry, a global relief and development NGO with a vision to see justice for the oppressed and the end of systemic poverty.
Skiing, cycling, movies and reading round out Peter’s primary interests.

Carrie Dyck
Being rooted in real estate development since 1989, Carrie has 30+ years’ experience honing her expertise in strategic investing and leading high-performance management teams. Through her leadership and work at Ratzlaff & Co., Carrie has been an integral part of building nearly 2,000 successful new homes in the Lower Mainland as well as the Okanagan area, reinforcing her strengths in the areas of strategic planning, property acquisitions and investing, performance tracking, contract negotiation, building design, and collaborating with teams to see a project through to successful completion.
Carrie has also been a part of numerous building and fundraising committees for local churches and organizations such as Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Abundant Life Home Orphanage in Chonburi, Thailand, and The Warm Zone, a safe refuge for marginalized women in Abbotsford, B.C.
Nancy Goertzen
Nancy has over 30 years of experience in corporate development with unique and diversified experience in companies across multiple industry sectors including broadcasting, renewable energy, new media, natural resources, mass timber and more. She has worked in a variety of corporate structures and markets including private, pre-IPO, listed companies, and exempt markets. She has specialized expertise in market readiness including ESG and investor relations and holds a senior advisory role at irlabs, a boutique capital markets firm based in Vancouver.
Nancy holds the CPIR (Certified Professional in Investor Relations) designation from Western University’s Ivey Business School and received the ICD.D designation from Rotman School of Management in 2021. She has been the Founding Chair of Canadian Women in Private Equity and Venture Capital for BC since 2012 and has served as a Director of the Board of Nationwide Self Storage Trusts I through VI since 2017.
Gerald Heinrichs
Gerald has over 30 years of experience in the real estate development industry. He is the owner and operating force behind Heinrichs Developments in the Fraser Valley. Gerald was Managing Partner & Director of Acquisitions at Mission Group. During his tenure, he held various leadership positions, identified strategic opportunities and provided land acquisition leadership across all the subsidiary companies of Mission Group.
Gerald was President of MGC Construction and can count among his many career accomplishments dozens of highly successful large-scale commercial developments and a similar number of residential communities located in the Lower Mainland and in the Interior.
George Summach
George grew up in Saskatoon and moved to Calgary in the mid-70s. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Biola University in California and after graduation, he worked in real estate sales & marketing.
George moved back to the prairies in 1993 to get involved in a family-owned and operated business called Flexi-Coil, with over 1700 employees and market dominance in 23 different countries around the world. During his time at Flexi-Coil, he saw first-hand the value and the impact of employing gifted and dedicated team players. A business with a respected reputation that invests in its staff and its customers is a business of excellence.
After Flexi-Coil, George spent several years traveling the world, partnering on numerous Samaritan’s Purse projects and relief type activity. Shortly after this endeavour, him and Jon Friesen worked together on the Mission Shores condo community and following its success, Mission Group originated.
George has a passion for family, travel, people, photography, adventure, outdoors, cars and great food.
FOUNDERS
Jon Friesen
Jonathan was raised in a small Japanese coastal town along the Sea of Japan during the rapid economic growth of the 1960s. He attended boarding school in Tokyo in the 70s and University in Los Angeles in the 80s. Together with his family, he settled in Vancouver and began a career in property development. Jonathan has also held advisory roles with developments in Japan and the south seas.
Jonathan is a co-founder of Mission Group Enterprises Ltd. where he currently serves as Chief Executive Officer. With a diverse perspective gained by his global experience, he has learned that success is a process which is best navigated not by fitting in, but by being different.
Jonathan currently serves on several boards and holds an ICD.D designation. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family, cycling and traveling.
Randy Shier
Randy has been engaged in the real estate development industry for the last 35 years. Prior to joining Mission Group as a partner in 2004, Randy was a leader in several prominent Vancouver development companies. Randy earned a degree in architecture from the University of Southern California. After graduation in 1982, he moved to Vancouver and three years later he became a registered architect. In 1986, he left architecture and began his development career.
Randy currently serves as CPO of Mission Group Enterprises in Kelowna, British Columbia, where he provides strategic guidance in many areas of the business. In his free time, Randy enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, skiing, oil painting, and traveling.
